Terms of Service

How we operate, what we believe in, and what you can expect from us.

How We Operate

Pay-per-use services, powered by Bitcoin Lightning.

Sats4AI is a Bitcoin-powered services marketplace. We provide access to AI tools (image generation, text generation, video, audio, vision, OCR), communication services (phone calls, SMS, email), document processing (file conversion, PDF tools, translation), and more. Every service works the same way: you submit a request, pay a Lightning invoice, and receive your result. No signup, no subscription, no minimum commitment.

We operate three interfaces: a web UI for humans, an L402 API for programmatic access, and an MCP server for AI agents. All three follow the same principle: pay per use, no accounts required.

No-Account Privacy

No account means no account-linked activity history.

No customer account

We do not create a registered customer identity or collect an email address or phone number as an account key. There is no signup, login, or customer record keyed to either one. A communication service still needs the destination you ask it to contact, but that destination does not become a Sats4AI account identity.

No KYC

We do not verify your identity. A Lightning payment authorizes one transaction; it does not create a Sats4AI identity or a reusable account credential.

No behavioral profile

We do not build an advertising profile, use third-party behavioral analytics or advertising pixels, or sell or rent personal or usage data. We do not have an account-linked dataset of what a customer typed, uploaded, generated, or bought.

Per-transaction records

We keep the records needed to quote, accept payment, deliver a result, prevent abuse, diagnose a failure, and issue a refund. These records belong to a transaction or job, not to a customer account.

What this architecture protects

Most online accounts start with an email address or phone number and attach every later action to that identifier. Sats4AI has no such registration identifier.

We cannot open a customer account and see who typed a prompt, uploaded a file, or used another tool, because that customer account does not exist. For an ordinary AI or file request, the work is attached to a payment and a job, not to a registered person. This removes the account-linked activity graph that conventional services build by default.

No account does not guarantee anonymity. Content can identify you if you put identifying information in it. Calls, SMS, fax, and email require destination information. An appeal can require an email, and an automatic refund can require a Lightning address. The providers and networks that perform those actions also receive the information they need.

Records we keep

  • Transaction records. These can include the service, amount, timestamps, payment and provider references, delivery state, failure details, and refund state. Paid transaction records can remain for accounting, service integrity, and refund support.
  • Optional agent identifier. If you send an X-Agent-IDheader, we store the value on the transaction. If you reuse it, those transactions can be linked. We do not generate this value from your browser.
  • Communication and abuse records. Call and SMS payment records can include a stable one-way hash of the destination, its country, and coarse source country and network operator data. The coarse source data is scheduled for deletion after 30 days. Fax, email, appeals, safety reviews, carrier delivery, and recipient opt-outs can require additional contact or job data. Some fax subscription and delivery metadata remains with the operational record.
  • Application network data. The application does not store a raw IP address or browser User-Agent on a payment record. Hosting and network providers can process request logs under their own operational and retention rules.

Content, files, and job state

Content retention is separate from transaction-record retention. Most local upload and download files enter automatic cleanup after 2 hours. The cleanup target is 12 hours for finished audiobook files and 24 hours for a source book retained for fault investigation. A completed speech or subtitle download is an ordinary working file, so it enters cleanup on the same 2-hour target — download your result promptly. The job record that holds the transcript text is separate and is deleted after 24 hours; an unfinished job is kept up to 7 days so we can recover it or issue a refund. Cleanup runs hourly, so deletion can occur after the target time.

Recent message text and extracts of recording transcripts support recipient-scoped abuse checks for 24 hours. These context records are deleted hourly, so storage can last up to 25 hours. Original uploaded-call transcripts and raw held-request or appeal evidence enter cleanup after 30 days. We also keep a de-identified record of screened communications to measure and improve fraud detection. Identifiers in it — contact addresses, numbers and names that follow a greeting — are replaced with one-way tokens, and it holds no destination number and no account, because the service has none. De-identification is not anonymization: text a sender wrote can still identify someone. Do not submit personal information the service does not need. Providers keep records under their own policies. Operator and mail-provider records can have separate retention rules.

Providers process the request

The AI, conversion, storage, signing, Lightning, telecom, email, or delivery provider needed for a service receives the input and transaction information needed to perform its part. A fallback can send a request to another provider after a failure. Providers can keep their own operational records under their own policies. Sats4AI does not sell your usage data or give it to advertising or behavioral-analytics companies.

Bitcoin-Native Pricing

We price in sats. We don't peg to the dollar.

We quote in sats. Sometimes we show a rough dollar figure next to it, to help you judge the size of a purchase — but the sats are the price, not a conversion of one.

Most services do it the other way round. They price in dollars and show you sats only at the payment screen, so what you actually hand over moves with the exchange rate every time you buy. We are not “selling AI for dollars and accepting Bitcoin as a payment method.” We are pricing in Bitcoin because we believe in it as a unit of account.

And as Bitcoin gains, our prices fall. What we buy is priced in dollars, so if Bitcoin goes from $30,000 to $300,000, the same work costs a tenth of the sats. On calls, messages and audiobooks the quote follows that on its own. On flat-priced tools we cut the number itself. Either way the gain goes to you, not to us — and you see the sats before you pay.

Over time that has meant lower prices: Bitcoin's purchasing power grows, newer models get cheaper, and we pass both on. A live quote tracks the rate in both directions, so it can rise if Bitcoin falls — you always see the sats first, and the quote you accept is the one you pay. There is no $20/month floor designed to extract maximum revenue — just honest cost-plus pricing denominated in the currency we operate in.

Why this matters

Most “Bitcoin-accepting” services convert to fiat instantly and adjust BTC prices every few seconds to maintain a dollar target. We don't. Our sat prices change only when our underlying costs change. You're not paying a fiat price with extra steps — you're paying a Bitcoin price.

Service Terms

What you get and what to expect.

Payments and refunds

Lightning payments are instant and irreversible by design. However, if processing fails on our end, you will see a refund prompt with instructions. Refunds must be claimed within 30 days of the failed request. After that the claim link stops working and the refund expires. We have no account and no way to contact you, so the claim link shown at the time of the failure — and /recover with your payment ID — are the only ways to collect it. If you experience any issue where you paid but didn't receive your result, contact us and we will work with you to resolve it. We take failed requests seriously.

AI outputs are not guaranteed

AI models can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected results. We provide access to models — we don't guarantee the quality, accuracy, or fitness of their output for any particular purpose. Use your own judgment.

Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uptime. Models, providers, and tools may change or become temporarily unavailable. We may add, remove, or replace models at any time to maintain the best possible service.

Pricing changes

Sat prices are displayed before every request. You always see the cost before you pay. We may adjust prices as our underlying costs change, but you will never be charged more than the amount shown on the invoice you approve.

Acceptable Use

Freedom with responsibility.

We do not gate access through a registered identity — no account and no KYC. But our SMS, call, and email services ride the public phone and mail networks, and those carriers prohibit fraud, threats, extortion, and impersonation. So we enforce the carrier's rules at the door, not yours. Our AI models are likewise not to be used for anything illegal — and content that sexualizes or endangers minors is strictly prohibited, detected, and never generated. Do not use Sats4AI to:

  • Generate content that exploits or harms minors
  • Create deepfakes or impersonate real people, companies, or governments without consent
  • Harass, threaten, extort, or defraud others
  • Solicit passwords, one-time codes, or other credentials from a recipient
  • Violate applicable laws in your jurisdiction
  • Abuse the platform in ways that degrade service for others (e.g., automated spam)

How we enforce this

Before you pay: links are not allowed in SMS, and per-destination send limits apply (a few messages, calls or faxes per number, per hour and per day). Recipient opt-outs are honored on every outbound channel, including fax. A recipient is not blocked merely because another sender targeted them.

After you pay: We screen requests after payment. Held messages and calls are not sent or placed; payment is retained during review, not refunded immediately. Confirmed violations are not refunded. Unresolved communication holds become eligible for a refund after 24 hours; refund eligibility is processed by scheduled maintenance. No impersonation, scams, threats, harassment, credential theft, unsolicited bulk messages, or contact after an opt-out. Answering a call does not establish consent. Screening can make mistakes and does not prove consent. Request a human review at /appeal (1 sat). Choose a refund or delivery of the original request, where supported, before the 24-hour review deadline. AI calls use model instructions for safety; we do not claim a hard real-time speech filter. Approved refunds are claimed at /recover.

Image, video, and 3D generation: prompts are screened before anything is generated. A prompt that seeks to sexualize or endanger a minor is blocked, never sent to a model, and not automatically refunded— same review path above. To make this possible, a prompt we flag is retained for review (an exception to our no-prompt-storage rule; a flagged prompt is not deleted with the rest of your request), so the content is available if you appeal.

Voice cloning: you must confirm that you own the voice or have the speaker's permission. We cannot verify whose voice a recording is, and we do not try — we do not analyze or store voice identities. That confirmation is your statement, and cloning a voice to impersonate someone is prohibited.

Limitation of Liability

Sats4AI is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or reliance on AI-generated output.

Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount of sats you paid for the specific request in question.

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
